OPENING NIGHT FOR SUMMER EXHIBITION!
Rosaleen Linehan, Actress and comediene officially opened the Summer exhibition in The Rosses Art Gallery in Kincasslagh on Saturday 14th July.
Launching Kevin Gallaghers first solo exhibition, the popular personality spoke of the drugs and drink culture that exists in society particularly among the young and highlighted the importance of organisations such as the Arts Council in drawing them to a more positive Lifestyle.
Ms linehan remarked on the Artist in residency scheme that operates, referring to Kevin's role in the Rosses Community School which encourages students to take up art as an alternative to going out at the weekend and getting drunk.
Praising the exhibition, she described the paintings as"extraordinary" and the prices as "wonderful".
A total of thirty-three pictures- the theme of the exhibition is fairie's but not definetly not as we know them- make up the display but already some of the work has been snapped up by eager art lovers.
Rosaleen Linehan took away one of the paintings after being presented with it by the artist himself in the light of her presence at the official opening.
